  1. SELECT THE DETENTION FACILITY AND ADD YOUR INMATE

After you’ve signed up and have logged into HomeWAV, you’ll choose the detention facility and select the name of the person you want to videochat with. To do this, use the drop-down selectors and follow along with the instructions.

Sometimes, facilities might require additional information for you to video chat with inmates, including an inmate ID number, a picture of your driver’s license, etc. If you need help uploading those details, read our FAQ page for friends and family users.

  1. ADD TALK TO ME FUNDS

Once you’ve added one or more contacts to your account, you’re ready to add funds and connect. Set up your Payment Details by adding a credit card. To add funds for a specific inmate, select the inmate associated with your account and click “Add Talk to Me Funds.” Enter the amount you wish to transfer. Keep in mind that rates and services vary by facility.

  1. AWAIT A CALL FROM YOUR LOVED ONE

Once your account is squared away and the funds are established, you are ready to video chat with inmates. When you log onto HomeWAV for video visitation, your contact will be notified via the HomeWAV station that a visitor is ready to connect. From there, the inmate will enter his or her ID information, and the video will begin! It’s that easy – no complicated scheduling and no invasive searches. Instead, you can simply connect with your loved one on your own schedule.
