Refund Policy
Automatic Refunds
HomeWAV will automatically initiate a refund in the following scenarios:
• If the inmate has been released from a facility for at least 72 hours
• If the facility has been decommissioned
• If the visitor deletes the inmate
• If the inmate deletes the visitor
• If 180 days of continuous inactivity have passed
Refunds may take up to three weeks to be mailed.
Refunds Requiring Manual Processing
Each transaction that is added to an account is refunded separately.
For example, if you add two separate $10 transactions (totaling $20), you’ll receive two separate $10 refunds, each returned to the original payment method.
You will receive a refund confirmation email from HomeWAV. If more than 72 hours have passed and you have not received a refund confirmation, please contact Customer Support here.
Inmate General Fund
Refunds from the Inmate General Fund are not permitted. Balances remaining on the inmate’s account at the time of their release or transfer will be automatically refunded to the most recent card(s) used, following a last-in, first-out method.
On occasion, a check will be issued to the inmate if cash or commissary funds still exist when the inmate is released.
